Xtrallux Sizing / Fit

We have 4 models of devices currently on the market which each vary slightly in dimensions. All devices fit most and are somewhat flexible to provide comfort and adaptability to different head shapes. The Alpha and Super Plus models are our regular size caps, followed by the Turbo Pro which is slightly larger, and then lastly the largest is the Extreme RX. The following dimensions are approximate and express the interior dimensions when not placed on a head. While the overall circumference will be constant, the proportions will fluctuate between the width and length, depending on the shape of the user wearing the hat.

The main difference between our models is the density of lasers within the device. Higher-end models contain more laser diodes which are more closely spaced to each other for greater density of coverage. More lasers provides the scalp with more areas receiving treatment; for overall greater results with more lasers. You will likely notice results faster with the higher-end models as there are more areas of the scalp receiving treatment.

1. Charge Power Pack Overnight: Charge Power Pack using the provided AC Adapter. Indicator lights on battery will pulse while charging. When all lights are lit and stop pulsing, the power pack is ready for use. Before the 1st use only, charge fully overnight for optimal battery performance. Disconnect from AC Adapter.
2. Connect Power Pack to Cap: After disconnecting Power Pack from AC Adapter, align cable arrows on back of Laser Device with cable on Power Pack. Push tightly in place.
3. Place Cap on Head: Place Laser Device on head while holding Power Pack in hand.
4. Press Power Button to Start: Once Laser Device is on head, press & hold the power button firmly on the front of the Power Pack. Double tone will sound to begin treatment.
5. Wait to Remove Cap: Power Pack lights will shut off when treatment has ended. Power Pack shuts off automatically. Remove Laser Device from your head.
6. Store & Protect: Pack the Laser Device and Accessories in the Storage Case until the next day. When necessary, refer to manual for cleaning instructions.

The Xtrallux device should be used 6 minutes every day. Do not exceed recommended usage.  Exceeding recommended usage does not provide any added benefit and may, in fact, have a negative impact. For best results, use of the Xtrallux device should not be discontinued. If you inadvertently miss a treatment, restart your daily treatments. The Xtrallux device should be used indefinitely for continued treatment and maintenance of healthy hair growth. Cessation of treatment may result in reversion of results.

A normal charge cycle for a new Power Pack with an Xtrallux Hair Regrowth Cap is ~3 uses (Alpha may get more uses, Turbo Pro may get less). Devices with more lasers may require more frequent charging as they consume more energy. Xtrallux Power Packs use lithium-ion batteries which allow for fast charging, longer life and reduced energy use. Lithium-ion battery cells degrade over time: more frequent charging may be required with battery aging.

Refer to the charging and safety instructions in your User Manual. Only charge Power Pack with Xtrallux provided AC adapter. Your Power Pack warranty covers any manufacturer defect during the first 12 months (accidental damage is not covered). Our power packs contain no user-serviceable parts. Please do not attempt to repair any portion of your device as this may result in device failure and void the manufacturer warranty. Replacement power packs can be ordered from Xtrallux as necessary during the device’s lifetime.

Whether you are in New York or Tokyo, our universal AC adapter lets you recharge your Power Pack in most places around the world. Compatible with inputs of 100-240 V, 50/60Hz, 0.6A. We provide plug blades for power outlets using Type A, C (Euro), G, and I connections.

Laser light typically shines through individual strands of hair to reach the scalp so you don't need to worry about parting your hair any particular way. Xtrallux Hair Regrowth devices emit coherent laser light which keeps the light energy narrowly focused at the surface to penetrate deeper and stimulate the hair follicle.

For best results, we recommend using the cap on a clean and dry scalp to allow for the laser light to penetrate without any obstruction from water or natural oils. 

If you decide to use with minoxidil on your scalp, we recommend cleaning the interior frequently to prevent accumulation of residue on the device that would block the light. Please refer to the maintenance instructions on the manual included with your device or see below.

Please note that there are no contraindications for using minoxidil with laser therapy. In fact, industry knowledge indicates that minoxidil may enhance the effect of laser therapy when used in conjunction so the use of multiple therapies is encouraged to maximize hair growth results.

Xtrallux Hair Regrowth caps emit visible red light at ~655 nm in wavelength which does not carry heat. In fact, low-level laser therapy used by Xtrallux Hair Regrowth caps is often referred to as "cold laser" therapy because it differs from higher level laser light (such as infrared waves) which does produce heat.

It is normal to feel a slight warmth under the Xtrallux cap due to the electronics, as well as from natural body heat resulting from use of any hat. The electrical circuitry powering the laser produces a small amount of heat as a by-product. Additionally, the clear silicone liner insulates body heat naturally produced between the scalp and the interior surface of the device. Xtrallux devices give off no heat or harmful radiation. If you feel discomfort, please discontinue use and contact your doctor.

The same eye precautions should be taken for children as adults. Please keep in mind that Xtrallux laser therapy is only recommended for adults.

This device is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the device by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device or its accessories and components. Do not leave the device unattended while connected to Power Pack.

Cleaning your Xtrallux Laser Dome

Disconnect all cables before cleaning. When necessary, gently wipe the interior of the Laser Dome with a disinfecting alcohol wipe or damp cloth. Do not use any acetone, solvents or abrasive solutions as they will damage and void the manufacturer warranty. Do not exert excessive force as this may cause damage to the device.

Cleaning Xtrallux Sports Cap

Washing of sports cap may be required periodically. Washing Instructions: To wash sports cap, first remove Sports Cap from Xtrallux laser cap by disconnecting laser dome from Power Pack and pulling power cable through the opening in the sports cap. Machine wash using warm or cold water as needed. Tumble dry low. Reassembly Instructions: When finished cleaning, pull power cable through opening in sports cap and fit cap onto dome by stretching the edge around the dome.

Care should be taken to protect the integrity of the device. It is recommended to keep your Xtrallux device in its protective storage case between uses to prevent accidental damage and avoid excess wear and tear. Take care when removing cables from power sources, gently unplugging cables without exerting excess tension on device cables. 

The Xtrallux device contains no user-serviceable parts. Please do not attempt to repair any portion of your device as this may damage the unit and void your warranty.

For optimal battery performance, charge the Li-Ion Power Pack completely overnight before the first use. On subsequent uses, refer to the battery indicator lights for need to recharge. Please note that lithium-ion battery cells degrade over time: more frequent charging may be required with battery aging and use.

All genuine Xtrallux laser devices contain a unique serial label. You will need this number whenever reaching out to Xtrallux for support. You can find the serial number on the laser dome (under the hat). The serial number should appear similar to the following and begin with an "X". 

If laser lights do not turn on...

• Check Indicator Lights on Xtrallux Power Pack to make sure it is fully charged. 
• Check to make sure that cables are properly connected between device and Power Pack. 
• Check to make sure the AC Adapter is not connected to the Power Pack. 

If Power Pack does not respond...

• Connect Power Pack to AC Adapter and check to see how many indicator lights are blue and solid. Once all inidcator lights turn blue and do not blink, disconnect the Power Pack from the AC Adapter and try to turn on again while connected to Laser Dome.

If you hear continuous beeping tones...

• Check cable connection between Power Pack & Device. Arrows on each should be aligned with each other to ensure proper connection of pins. The device will not receive power if the cables are improperly connected.
